Monday Flashback VideDedi: The Pointer Sisters’ “Automatic”

This one is for you, ma sista.  I know you like this song, too.  BONUS: This is from a “Soul Train” appearance!  “Soul Train” in the ’80s was the shit.  There really was nothing better than watching it on Saturdays after “Super Friends.”  I challenge any Child of the Decade to watch this without both wincing (“Oh my God, is that a shiny polyester taffeta peplum skirt?!” ) and smiling with wistful nostalgia (remember the world, pre-Milli Vanilli, where you could TRUST lip-synching?).  Enjoi!  :)

Hey– sorry I didn’t get a chance to write before, and sorry I missed “Automatic,” which I loooove. I also love the “Neutron Dance,” by the way. Big Pointer Sisters fan. And thanks for your support on the Ill Doc piece, if you can circulate it that would be amazing. I couldn’t find a venue where I could really go in at length, so I just gave it to Jay, but I’m hoping that folks will read it.

@Elizabeth: AWESOME! I’m gonna cross-post the write up today, EVERYONE needs to read it. And yeah, I had no idea the “Soul Train” police would be stopping by the blog. Sometimes the internets are too ridiculous. Anyway, thank you so much for stopping by, my weekend is MADE! :D
